This amazing green rice caught my eye one day at Whole Foods (where else?!) so I grabbed it and it’s quickly become my favorite rice ever. Jade rice has a green tint from the chlorophyll and bamboo infused into it naturally. Just add water and a pinch of salt and you’ve got the perfect base for the miso broth bowl or the protein / grain bowl on my White Magic Menu.
Ingredients: (serves 4-6)
- 2 cups Jade Bamboo Rice – BUY HERE
- 2 cups filtered water
- pinch of sea salt
Using an stainless steel rice cooker, add water to rice DO NOT WASH RICE! It will remove the color and bamboo juice!
Just put rice, water, and salt into rice cooker and press on. It cooks quickly so check and fluff it after about 15 minutes. It should be ready. If you prefer firm sticky rice, let cool partially covered.
